Ferdinand Gruenenwald

I am a Masters student at the University Victoria in the department of mathematics working with Mark Lewis and Jing Huang. In my research I want to understand and protect what’s dear to me, the natural living world, by doing what I enjoy most puzzling through a problem until things make sense. Currently this process takes the form of trying to understand animal movement, in particular traplining behaviour, using tools from Graph Theory.

Previously, I completed my B.A.Sc. in mathematics at Quest University in Squamish, Canada.

When I am at not University you can find me playing in the outdoors, climbing rocks, surfing waves, or simply enjoying a tasty dinner with friends.
